The purpose of the umpire is to make the game correct, and if they make a mistake, and it effects the game, then its not a fair or good game. The reason its not used is because of tradition. When baseball was played in the past the most accurate decider was a man, that is no longer the case, and with current technology, they should have a replay umpire that would have the same view as the networks, and make the correct call and leave the game in the hands of the players on the field. If like football, the play is not definite, then the umpire call is upheld. They should do it like tennis, and have challenges, which if correct, are not lost. The time factor is as fast as the network review, very fast. It could be 1 challenge per inning. per team. What is the downside?
