Some Fan Mail
I don’t often get fan mail from Rumor Mill readers so it was nice to log in and see a friendly message in my inbox from one of the faithful few. It was so entertaining in fact that I decided I should post it (and my response) for you all to read and enjoy. (I’ve preserved the formatting, spelling, and punctuation from the original.)
The fan mail:
The rumor mill is not rumor place its a news place
rumors are data that you find out thru scuttlebutt, inside
information and free talk from people in the know.nothing you have given me is anything more than ESPN does .what you
have is not rumor its fact.If I want facts all I have to do is have ESPN news feed on my desktop. This site is a piece
of garbage. Now in the intertainment business TMZ is rumor
And of course, my response:
Glad you like the site! For the record, a rumor is a story or statement
in general circulation without confirmation or certainty as to facts.
Therefore, an article about a possible trade or a possible signing is
by definition a rumor. It doesn’t matter whether it’s published on ESPN
or the front page of the New York Times. It’s still a rumor. Also, I’ve
never pretended that I have some inside track on information. I simply
report the different rumors that I read across the web. But, like I
said I’m glad you enjoy the site.

Oh, P.S. when telling someone that their site is "garbage", I’d suggest
you spell "through" and "entertainment" correctly. I mean you wouldn’t
want to come across as an ignorant jerk or anything.
